Eden Police are looking for 20 Swaledale sheep, which have been reported stolen from the Dufton area.
The herd went missing between December 2 and December 6.
Police say the animals all marked with a unique livestock tracing system, which works by marking the livestock with forensic coded microdots. These dots become entangled in fleeces and coats. This allows the animal to be traced back to their home farm, in the event they're stolen.
Along with the microdot they are also tagged in other ways
Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101
