Two men escaped without injury following a crash on the M6 at Tebay.
It happened at about 6pm yesterday, during heavy rain.
The accident caused delays on the motorway.
Cumbria's roads police team issued a warning to other road users about the driving conditions.
The vehicles involved were a Vauxhall Astra and BMW 320D.
The Vauxhall was driven by a 32-year-old man from Scotland.
The BMW was driven by a 55-year-old man, also from Scotland.
