A MAN charged with an aggravated burglary is due to appear at Carlisle Crown Court.
Darren Matthews, 46, of Sybil Street, Carlisle, appeared at the city's magistrates' court yesterday and entered no plea.
He is alleged to have entered a house in King Street, Carlisle, on November 8 and stole jewellery worth £750 and £80 cash.
District Judge Gerald Chalk said the indictable offence could only be dealt with at the crown court, where Matthews will appear on December 17.
He has been remanded in custody until then.
