An overturned lorry on the M6 shed 44 tonnes of concrete blocks which closed the southbound carriageway.
The crash was reported to police shortly after 2.30am this morning.
It was between junction 36 (Kirkby Lonsdale) and junction 34 (Lancaster), with the southbound carriageway completely closed between the two junctions.
Recovery work has now been completed and all lanes have been reopened
