I have recently become aware of a proposal to build a drive-through KFC outlet in Morrison's car park on Kingstown road which has left me rather perplexed.

This stretch of road is the main artery leading north and already often suffers from congestion.

This will no doubt get worse as the Story housing development opposite the Kingstown industrial estate nears completion.

Surely we should be looking at ways to reduce traffic not increase it.

On a wider point I question if we should be encouraging yet more fast food outlets in the city when the country is faced with a massive increase in obesity and other health related issues especially in children.

I would be very interested to hear our local councillors opinion on these matters.
