Fried chicken giant KFC has closed its store in The Lanes, Carlisle, and the unit is being refitted.
KFC, which arrived in The Lanes in 2002, announced it was ending its time in the city last month.

It left its two-storey unit sometime in the last week after its lease came to an end.

Speaking last month, David Jackson, commercial director of The Lanes, said KFC bosses decided not to renew their lease in light of plans to develop a drive-through in another part of the city.

They have had plans approved to open that branch off London Road, on the old Harraby Green filling station site.

KFC also has branches in Workington, Penrith, Barrow and at Gretna Services.
