A 12-YEAR-OLD boy was taken to hospital with spinal injuries after he was hurt playing rugby.
The youngster, from Penrith, was taken to Carlisle's Cumberland Infirmary from Wigton Rugby Club by road ambulance at about 1.20pm today.
The Great North Air Ambulance Service's Pride Of Cumbria helicopter was called to the scene from its base in Langwathby. The aircrew doctor and paramedic assisted the North West Ambulance Service paramedics.
