A man has appeared before magistrates charged with sexual offences.

They include two allegations of distributing child pornography and four of attempting to cause a girl aged 14 to engage in sexual activity.

Graham David Bain, 32, of Raiselands Croft, Penrith, is also accused of possessing 16 indecent photos of children and three counts of downloading child pornography.

All the offences are said to have happened in March.

The case against Bain, who entered no plea when he appeared before magistrates in Carlisle today, was sent to Carlisle Crown Court for a hearing on June 17.

He was granted bail until that hearing.
