A Carlisle man has been fined for breaching a football banning order ahead of Euro 2016.
Kevin McKnight, 32, appeared at the city's magistrates' court where he admitted a charge of failing to comply with the requirements of a football restriction order.
District Judge Gerald Chalk heard McKnight was sent a letter in April. This stated that he had to surrender his passport at Carlisle police station on either May 31 or June 1 ahead of the international football tournament. However, he failed to do so.
McKnight, of Vasey Crescent, off Warwick Road, did surrender his passport on June 3 - two days after the cut-off point. His breach was said by defence lawyer John Smith to have been an error and "not deliberate".
District Judge Chalk imposed a £25 fine, £85 costs and a £30 victim surcharge.
Cumbria police had earlier stated that McKnight was the only person in the county who failed to comply with the banning order conditions ahead of Euro 2016.
