Police are looking for vandals who destroyed a Christmas tree which was in the front garden of a house.

Officers say the offence happened yesterday evening between 5.30pm and 7pm at an address in Castlesteads Drive, Penrith.

A spokesman said the suspects entered the garden and destroyed the Christmas, lights and decorations.

They then left the scene.

It's the second such offence in the town in a week as last Saturday a huge tree outside the Natwest bank in Devonshire Street was damaged. The tree's metal frame and containers, worth around £1,000 were destroyed.

Anyone with information should contact police on 101.
