Fast food chain McDonald's wants to open a second drive-thru restaurant in Carlisle - creating 65 jobs.
The burger chain has submitted plans for a new restaurant on London Road - opposite the old Railway Inn pub and on the J And W Watt Ltd Goods Yard, next to Trevor Street.
The firm has submitted plans to Carlisle City Council.
A spokesman for McDonald's said: "We can confirm that we have submitted a planning application for a new restaurant on London Road in Carlisle.
"If approved, the restaurant would create 65 full and part-time jobs and bring significant investment to the local community."
The firm also has a drive-thru - which was recently modernised - at Kingstown in Carlisle.
The plans will be discussed by the city council at a later date.
