Trains on the West Cumbrian coastal line are delayed this morning.
Signalling problems between St Bees and Sellafield means that southbound and northbound trains are delayed until engineers from Northern Rail can attend.
A spokesman for Northern Rail said the delay was due to signalling problems.
Trains are said to be running about 30 minutes late.
The spokesman said: "We are very sorry for the delay this will cause."
