A man has suffered a broken leg whilst running along the side a Cumbrian lake.
The 34-year-old broke his femur whilst on uneven ground at Calf Close Bay.
The North West Ambulance Service called upon Keswick Mountain Rescue Team to help as the man was some distance from the nearest road.
Volunteers from the team were on the scene quickly after being called in around 1.45pm yesterday (WED).
They gave the man analgesia and splinted his leg.
He was then stretchered to a waiting ambulance at Stable Hills before being taken to the Cumberland Infirmary in Carlisle for treatment.
Sixteen members of Keswick Mountain Rescue Team helped at during the incident, which lasted around an hour.
