THE first-ever Laugh Your 'Tache Off comedy night takes place in Carlisle next week.

A top line-up of UK stand-up circuit favourites takes to the stage at The Brickyard on Friday January 26, in a charity show that will raise money for the Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM).

Heading the bill will be musical comic Paul 'Silky' White, who has appeared at the biggest festivals around the world, including Glastonbury and the Melbourne Comedy Festival.

The internationally-renowned performer has also appeared as far afield as China, Kuwait, the Seychelles, Kosovo, and the Falkland Islands, having started out on his hometown circuit in Liverpool more than 20 years ago.

He's appeared on BBC's The Stand-Up Show and Paramount's The World Stands Up, and received praise from some of the biggest names in the business, including John Bishop and Tim Minchin.

English Comedian Of The Year 2016 finalist Nina Gilligan also features on the bill.

An in-demand compere too, she has performed and hosted at many of the North West's best-known comedy clubs.

Seymour Mace, best recognised for his appearances on BBC3 sitcom Ideal, alongside Jonny Vegas, will be performing his surreal brand of stand-up.

Having made the final of the So You Think You're Funny competition at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2001, he has gone on to perform at the best-established clubs and comedy festivals around the UK.

There will also be a guest appearance from North East favourite John Whale, who made a starring appearance in the Chortle Student Comedy Awards in 2008, and has gone on to perform across the UK, at the Edinburgh Festival and for BBC Comedy Presents.

Doors for the show on Friday January 26 open at 7.30pm, and tickets are available from The Kings Head, The Brickyard and the Vinyl Café in Carlisle, or via seetickets.com

All proceeds will be donated to CALM.
