For those who enjoy outdoor pursuits, Carlisle is well placed for access to the beautiful Eden Valley, the wonderful Lake District National Park and the Solway coast, which is well known for its abundance of bird life. 

Herling House is rather special and arguably one of Carlisle's finest period dwellings.
