Teenage midfielders Jack Egan and Sam Adewusi have today signed new deals at Carlisle United.

Egan has agreed a six-month deal that keeps him at Brunton Park until January.

Youth graduate Adewusi, meanwhile, has signed his first one-year professional contract.

Both put pen to paper on the day pre-season training got under way under new manager John Sheridan.

It will be 19-year-old Egan's second year as a pro after being one of four young players on "development" contracts last season.

He spent time on loan with Workington and Clitheroe and was offered new terms this summer along with Jordan Holt, as Cameron Salkeld and Morgan Bacon were released.

Holt also recently signed a six-month deal.

Adewusi, meanwhile, is the last of three of last season's youth players to sign his new terms this summer.

The 18-year-old follows Kieron Olsen and Max Brown in stepping up to the professional ranks.

"Everyone is back with a clean slate and I want all of our younger players to show the desire and hunger needed to make a mark," Sheridan told United's website.
