A truly inspirational and great man - his dedication and brilliant sense of humour will be remembered by everyone he ever met. Definitely one of my heros.

David and Lisa, please accept my sincere condolences for your loss. Fond memories of Mr. Irving a truly inspirational teacher who taught myself and my siblings in the 1960’s at Caldewgate Primary School. A true gentleman. It was lovely to meet up with him back at Caldewgate School prior to the demolition at the open day, and amazing that he remembered us and could recite the full register of everyone in our class, he was still the same warm, friendly, fun loving man. RIP Mr. Irving.

David and Lisa; please accept my condolences for your loss. A truly good bloke who I will always be grateful to for the education he gave me. I still remember the day the whole school turned up at Caldewgate, simply to see him. RIP
