PRESTON James (Jim) Formerly Carlisle City Police. At West Cumberland Hospital on Thursday, 7th November 2019, Jim, of Dearham, aged 83 years, beloved husband of Shirley Anne, a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather and dear brother of Derek. Service in St. Mungo's Church, Dearham, on Friday, 15th November at 1.15 p.m. followed by interment in the cemetery. Family flowers only please but donations may be made to Ward 3 West Cumberland Hospital c/o Stephen Johnston (Funeral Director), Stony Brook, Row Brow, Dearham, CA15 7JR.

A real gentleman, always a wry smile and a pleasant word. As a boss the best I can say is that he did not act like one. He nevertheless got the job done. Never a nasty word to anyone. As a sixteen year old clueless cadet from West Cumbria people like him made me want to be a copper! Will never forget his wry smile and wit. RIP
