LEADING musical comic Mitch Benn will be bringing his 2018 tour, I'm Still Here, to Cumbria.

The much sought-after stand-up and winner of BBC 2’s Celebrity Mastermind heads to the Old Fire Station, in Carlisle, on Sunday March 11 next year.

A stalwart of the UK comedy circuit, this new show sees Mitch look back over what, for the lack of a better word, he still refers to as his "career" and ponders where he - and indeed all of us - might be going next. He's looking backwards, forwards and sideways trying to make the world a better place, one silly song at a time.

Widely acknowledged as one of the best writers and performers of comedy songs in the country, he has worked on The Now Show for BBC Radio 4 and It's Been a Bad Week for BBC Radio 2, and he has also had three series of his successful Radio 4 show, Mitch Benn's Crimes Against Music.

Benn started his career in Edinburgh in 1994, and was voted best new comic at the 1995 Glastonbury festival, scooping the prestigious Comedian Of The Year gong at The Leicester Comedy Festival three years later.

Following on from the success of his Mitch Benn Is The 37th Beatle show, a further three specials on music icons Bob Dylan, David Bowie and Elvis have been broadcast. He also co-presented with Harry Shearer on BBC Radio 2's Anatomy Of A Guitar and presented Spank The Plank for BBC Radio 4.

He's also the author of two novels, Terra and Terra's World, both published by Gollancz and co-author with Jon Holmes of The Twitter History Of The World.

Mitch Benn performs I'm Still Here at the Old Fire Station on March 11, 2018, and tickets are available from the venue's booking office now.
