In-form Workington Reds star Josh Calvert will miss today's FA Cup tie at Matlock Town with a hamstring injury.

And it is feared the central defender will miss the next few matches as he tries to recover from the problem.

Joint-manager Lee Andrews admitted it was a blow to the side as they aim to make it through to the fourth round of qualifying.

"Josh is struggling, we think he strained his hamstring the other night," said Andrews.

"He might miss a few weeks and he has been really decent so far this season, so it is a blow to lose him.

"But we have Kyle May back available, so it should be a straight swap."

James Earl has also been struggling with an ankle problem but Andrews says there is a chance he could be involved today.

Phil McLuckie is unavailable though, so Rob Wilson will come in as a replacement in the midfield.

Andrews says his side is not getting carried away with their success so far in the FA Cup and they are not looking too far ahead.

A win today would put them into the last round of qualifying before entering the first round proper when the Football League clubs enter the fray.

"We don't like to look too far ahead. There is still another game if we get through today's game before we get there," said Andrews.

"We will treat this game as we would any other.

"Matlock are a team from our league, so it will be a real test for us, especially away from home.

"But we feel we can still go and get something out of the game."

Reds beat Matlock twice last season, beating them home and away in league clashes in April.

But Andrews warned that their hosts could be a different proposition this season.

He added:"They have a different management from last season and they have made a few changes, so it might be a different test than it was at the back end of last season."
