There is still all to play for in this FA Trophy tie as Workington Reds hold visitors Bromley at half time 0-0.

Reds can be proud of their efforts in the opening 45 minutes against a full time outfit as they hustled their way through the game.

The visitors did have chances and were quick on the break but the Reds defence held up well and, on the attack, caused problems.

Reds began well as Conor Tinnion looked to play in Nathan Waterston but his effort was blocked and Bromley came away with the ball.

And it was the visitors who picked up the first corner and the ball was allowed to come out to George Porter but he stumbled before trying to get a shot through a crowded area and Reds managed to clear.

The game was moving at a fast pace with both sides looking for the opening. Reds got a good ball through to Tinnion in the clear and he looked to make the shot from outside the area but it was blocked again.

Then Bromley were immediately back on the attack and produced a couple of heart stopping moments for the home fans.

First Omar Bugiel forced a good save from Taylor as he came forward and then the ball came back out to Porter and his powerful shot went right into the arms of Taylor again, dropping to the floor to make sure.

Scott Allison looked to be fouled as he tried to win the ball near the visitors area. The referee looked to blow up but allowed play to go on as the ball went through to Dave Symington.

He took his chance, hammering goalwards but keeper David Gregory proved a safe pair of hands.

A fantastic tackle from Gari Rowntree allowed Reds to go back on the attack, Nathan Waterston showed his talent, twisting and turning to get a shot away from an angle but it ricocheted off the post.

Tinnion then turned defender to halt an impressive run from Brandon Hanlan as the action raced from end to end.

Reds were dealing well with their higher league opponents, restricting their play and getting into their faces and upsetting their rhythm.

There was some superb defending on display with all the back four deserving their plaudits against an in-form side who came into the game on a winning run.

Bromley had their best chance with 10 minutes of the first half remaining, as Porter got past Rowntree and broke up the right hand side.

He got the cross in with Josh Rees racing in to the box, he connected but luckily the shot went straight into the arms of a grateful Taylor.

As the rain began to beat down on Borough Park, McLuckie received a yellow card for his challenge on the far side of the pitch.

But Reds continued to push as the clock ticked down to half time and Tinnion looked to hustle his way forward when he was brought down and the home side got a free kick about 20-yards out on the right hand side.

A low shot from Symington was the preferred choice and it whizzed across the goalmouth with nobody able to get a final touch.

Rowntree also found his way into the referee's book with a yellow card for pulling a player back in the final minute of he first half.

But the teams go in at the break all square and with all to play for in the second half.
