Every season we offer you the chance to honour your favourite player from the 2016 Championship season. Below, John Walsh looks at five possible winners...

Dave Allen: Has continued to be Haven’s most effective running forward. Outstanding throughout a difficult season and then stepping up to the plate to take responsibility as part of a four man team running the show.

Craig Calvert: Still doing what he’s been doing all his career, scoring tries. Is the club’s top scorer with 11 touchdowns in the course of which he became Whitehaven’s top try-scorer of all time.

Grant Gore: An unsung hero on several occasions has proved a lively foil at half-back. Committed, enthusiastic style have made him a key figure as Whitehaven have continued to battle adversity.

Jessie Joe Parker: Whilst not operating at full fitness for a chunk of the season has always been prepared to give his all when required. Immensely popular in the community and on the terraces and still an effective finisher.

Ryan Duffy: The big man has proved a popular recruit to the Whitehaven cause, whose bullocking runs have proved to be his trademark. Effective impact player off the bench.
