We’ve got what it takes to beat Doncaster, says Workington Town skipper

Workington Town’s joint captain Jarrad Stack will lead his side in to battle at Doncaster on Sunday, confident that they have what it takes to register a second away win of the season.
But the Championship One play-off defeat that ended Town’s 2012 season, couldn’t be further from his mind.
The Aussie second-rower, who will skipper the team along with prop Ewan Dowes, was part of the Workington team that put in a lack-lustre performance and went down 20-0 at the Keepmoat Stadium last September.
“We just need to make sure we win on Sunday,” said Stack. “I’m confident we can do it. That defeat was last season, it’s history now. We just have to concentrate on Sunday’s game and keep playing the way we have in our first two games.
“I thought we were very unlucky on Sunday (Town went down 20-8 to Halifax). They had a 10-minute spell where they got the better of us,” he added.
Town have taken a very creditable four points from the first two games in the Championship, and Stack is confident of a good season in 2013.
“The new boys have gelled very well and the couple of bonding sessions we had were a great help. We were all flogged in pre-season so we are very fit. And we all want the same thing,” he said.
“It’s been a challenge stepping up to the Championship but we have the players to do the job and our first two games have shown what we’re capable of.
“Our defence has been outstanding and, after the performance against Halifax, I think we’ve got what it takes to beat Doncaster.”
And Stack was also delighted with the following the team got against Halifax on Sunday. He added: “It was good to get over the 1,000 mark. We were one of the top clubs with attendance improvement last year and we’ve continued that.
“I haven’t had better support anywhere I’ve played. The fans here are great.”
