Moorhouse go to town in a Cumbrian run of their own

In a much-reduced programme because of the Cumbrian Run, Premier Division strugglers DHCC were crushed 9-0 by Moorhouse.

Martin Shepherd bagged three helped by Joe Robinson (2), Andy Plunkett (2), Chris Baty and Rhys Walker.

Lloyds Bar sank Howard Rangers 7-1 after leading 1-0 at the break through Stuart Bell's 20 yard volley. Bell added three more to his tally and Ryan Errington notched a hat-trick while Nathan Gillies replied. Beehive continued their fine away form with a 4-0 win against Parkland thanks to Craig Bell, Mark King, Greg McNeish and Kevin Milburn.

UMI Exiles are still pointless at the bottom of the Second Division following their 3-0 home reverse against Royal Scot, whose marksmen were Jonny McGarva (2) and Shaun Allonby.

Ex-Servicemen were 4-1 victors at Wheatsheaf ,who used a lot of long balls early on which were comfortably dealt with by an Ex's defence well marshalled by Phil Hetherington and Phil Harden.

Chris Graham shot the Ex in front then Daniel Jeffrey doubled their score catching the home side short at the back. Micky Slack hit back before the interval as Ex's defenders hesitated expecting a free-kick.

Chris Slack was outstanding in Wheatsheaf's defence but he was unlucky to be unable to control the ball cleanly and Robbie Edgar took advantage to hit Ex's third. Fillipo Amato who stood out in midfield netted his side's fourth and three tremendous saves by keeper Kyle Stewart prevented the Ex further reward.

Third Division leaders Longtown were 6-1 too good for Howard FC. Johnny Templeton (3), Andy Bell (2) and Barry McComb made up their tally while Jason Betts responded. St Aidans remain on Longtown's tails and are still unbeaten after pipping Unisun "B" 2-1. Botcherby and Border Reiver "B" shared the spoils 4-4 after the former were 3-1 down at the halfway stage.

Stanwix Crown raced into a 6-1 lead at the break before overcoming Yewdale Pegasus 8-3 with strikes by Stuart Ferguson (4), Nicky Routledge (2) Ryan Godderidge and Andy Mapp. Lee McGregor and man of the match Darrell Miller responded.

In a Fourth Division encounter Big Al's Sports Bar went down 6-1 to visitors Club Victoria who found the net through Tyler Foord (2), Mike Frame, Adam Carr, Ali Farr and Roman Oplocky (penalty).Despite fielding a depleted side Scotby beat Apple Tree 3-1.

Mike Gilsenan opened the scoring weaving his way through and rounding the keeper and he added a second early in the second half. Apple Tree pulled one back and were denied a further goal by keeper Martin Purdie's full stretch save then Gilsenan completed his hat-trick with a clinical finish from the penalty-spot.

Inter Pirelli were 6-4 winners at Ship Inn.

Lloyds Re-United earned a 4-2 success at Crown Thistle. Dan Towers charged down an attempted clearance and squared to Adam Cox leaving him with a simple tap in and only an acrobatic tip around the post by keeper Stuart Forrester prevented Thistle from equalising.

A strong run by Towers on the resumption and fine cross enabled Cox to claim his tenth goal of the season then Towers widened the gap beating the keeper to a race for the ball and calmly slotting home.

The hosts pulled it back to 3-1 but Paul Browning restored Lloyd's three goal cushion with a strong drive into the bottom corner after his colleagues Mike Pritchard and Tony Morgan saw their efforts hit the woodwork.

Thistle grabbed their second goal just before the final whistle.
