Workington Athletic have retained the Smurfit Kappa Premier Division championship after a 6-2 victory against Aspatria.

Stuart Gray and Mark Messenger scored two goals each, Tom Pardini and Ashley Kelly also hitting the target to secure the points and the title for Workington. Richard Hudson and Malcolm Graham got Aspatria’s consolation goals.

Wigton Harriers took all three points at home to Netherhall. Goals from Ian Johnston, Richard O’Keefe, Johnny Studholme and Stuart Carruthers completing the 4-0 win.

In Division One, Frizington Whitestar consolidated their position on top with a 2-0 victory on the road at Bransty Rangers. Jordan Lee and Robson Todd were the scorers.

Gosforth kept tabs with the leaders by hitting Whitehaven Amateurs for six without reply with their goals coming from Robbie Bagley (3), Jack Denwood (2) and Owen Woodburn.

Unisun travelled to Whitehaven Miners Reserves and came away 5-0 victors, with goals from Prince (2), Dorwood, Shepherd and Hanley.

Windscale entertained Borough and went down 8-0 with four goals for Liam McCulloch, a brace for Dave Thompson and one each for Jack Edmondson and Dave Thompson.

In the Premier Division, midweek matches started with Netherhall travelling to Cockermouth and finding their form with a 3-1 win. Sean Smith, Andrew Lowes and Callum Best scored for Netherhall, Bret McMillan replying for the home side.

Wigton Harriers took all three points in a close-fought 1-0 victory at Aspatria, with a Dan Stockdale goal.

Division One saw Bransty Rangers entertain Unisun and go down to a Dorward brace. Bradley O’Pray getting Rangers' goal.

Borough and Gosforth couldn’t be separated and shared the points with a 2-2 draw. Gavin Martin and Liam McCulloch were on target for the home side, with Owen Woodburn and Jack Denwood replying for Gosforth.

Whitehaven Miners Reserves got their first point of the season with a 2-2 draw at home to Windscale. Jack Harrison and Scott Stables were on target for Miners Reserves, with Coady Scott and Ash Dixon replying for Windscale.

The first final of the season is the Smurfit Kappa Conway Cup Final at Whitehaven Amateurs (kick-off 2pm) between Premier League winners Workington Athletic and Division One side Cleator Moor Celtic.
