The new year saw the Smurfit Kappa Premier League restart with Cockermouth edging a five-goal thriller at home to Carlisle City in a 3-2 win.

Dean Wainwright scored a hat-trick for Cockermouth, while Kieran Blair and Jono Simpson replied for the visitors.

Netherhall went on the road to Whitehaven Miners and scored eight without reply, with a brace of goals from Glover and Little, while Sloan, Lowes, Short and Banks chipped in with one each, giving Netherhall their 8-0 victory.
