Integrating Annan Athletic's January additions has been "easy", according to manager Jim Chapman.

The Galabankies were busy last month, bringing in four players to help boost their Scottish League Two promotion push.

Two of those signings were brought in on loan, while the other two signings in the form of strikers Peter Weatherson and Smart Osadolor had previously played for the club.

Weatherson left Annan last year to pursue a career in management with Shettleston Juniors, only to be re-signed by the Black and Golds, while Nigerian frontman Osadolor left for Scottish League One team Stranraer but has also now made a comeback at Galabank.

Annan will look to continue their recent impressive form against Barry Ferguson's Clyde this afternoon (3pm kick-off).

Black and Golds boss Chapman feels the capture of experienced goalscorer Weatherson in particular may have surprised a few but shows the club are approaching their business in the right manner.

"Everybody knows Peter Weatherson. There is not a team in the lower levels of Scottish football that would not want him," he said.

"We had to recruit quite quickly at the start of the season due to the early start to the season, which is not disrespectful to the players we signed.

"Quite a few of the players [brought in January] have been here before and that makes them easy to integrate."

Englishman Weatherson is well known within footballing circles, both in Scotland and south of the border, having been born in North Shields but then going on to play for Queen of the South and Morton.

Chapman added: "There were a few raised eyebrows when Peter Weatherson came back to Annan. We don't have a great deal of resources.

"Peter will be the first to tell you how well he is looked after and, to some people, that is more important than the money side."

The way Annan Athletic treat their part-time players is something their boss takes pride in.

He said: "We treat people how we want to be treated ourselves.

"Many moons ago, I was that player in the dressing room."
