DEWSBURY Rams boss Glenn Morrison is disregarding Workington Town’s opening day form as he prepares for their meeting tomorrow.

Town head to the Rams tomorrow, ko 3pm, and Morrison says he is well aware of the threat that Workington can pose, despite their loss to Sheffield last week.

He said: “Workington are a strong side, although they have got some injuries at the moment.

“They have been in the finals with us for the last few seasons and we have played each other a lot, so know each other’s games well and we know they will be tough opponents.”

He added that his Dewsbury side must be on form if they want to continue their winning form, having beaten Swinton 26-24 in their opener last weekend.

Morrison said: “It is important that we pick up some wins in our first few games otherwise your season can be over before it has really begun.

“You don’t want to be playing catch up come the end of the season.

“We expected a tough first game and Swinton didn’t disappoint, although we did make it hard on ourselves

“We didn’t play well but two points is two points and people don’t look at how you get them come the end of the season.”

Morrison will assess Aaron Brown who suffered a recurrence of his knee injury against Swinton and also Jack Teanby who took a band to the eye.
