Senhouse Street Club failed to join Workington Sunday League rivals Bluebell in the semi-final of the Sunday County Cup.

They went down 4-1 at Arroyo Arms in the quarter-final as the Carlisle side went through with goals from McClubbing, Worrall, Roberts and Bell. Top scorer Terry Wharrier was on the mark for Senhouse Street.

It means that the west of the county will be represented by Bluebell and Mirehouse (Egremont Sunday League) with holders Salutation Inn and Arroyo Arms flying the flag for the east.

Back in the Workington Sunday League, the President’s Cup semi-final between Thomas Henry and the Sun Inn was called-off. Sun Inn will go through to the final on default.

The reason is Thomas Henry had not paid a Cumberland FA fine and there is to be a special meeting of the League Committee to discuss Thomas Henry’s problems.

In the other semi-final, Northside won through with a 5-2 victory at Grasslot. Their goals came from Liam McCullough (2), Kyle Graham, Gareth O’Leary and an own goal.

In the Divisional Cup, the best game saw Sun Inn Athletic draw 1-1 with Yankees Bar.

Lee Prescott scored for the Aspatria side with Lee Wolfe on target for Yankees.

The other Divisional Cup game saw Borough Miners hand out a 9-2 pasting to Commercial.

They didn’t really need the help of an own goal as Dale Hooper, Kevin Lever, David Thompson and Niall Melton each claimed a brace.
