CUMBRIAN hooker Jamie Blamire has missed out on a place in England's 33-man Rugby World Cup squad.

The Seaton-born Newcastle Flacons player has not been chosen by Carlisle-born head coach Steve Borthwick to feature in the tournament which gets underway on Friday, September 8 in France. 

Blamire had been retained by England as part of their summer training squads and earned his seventh international cap after being involved in England's 20-9 Summer Nations Series defeat against Wales in Cardiff.

England's 33-man Rugby World Cup squad is as follows:
