He will return to Brunton Park hoping to deepen his former club's relegation troubles this weekend.

And ex-Carlisle United man Harry McKirdy will do so as the newly-crowed League Two fans' player of the month.

The Swindon Town forward was rewarded for an impressive January by being voted the PFA Vertu Motors fans' player of the month.

It followed a six-goal League Two haul last month, which included four against Northampton Town.

He has netted 14 in 32 games in all competitions for the Robins, who sit eighth in the table ahead of this weekend's clash with the Blues.

McKirdy beat Forest Green Rovers pair Jamille Matt and Matty Stevens, plus Mansfield Town's Jordan Bowery, Newport County's Dom Telford and Stevenage's Jake Taylor to the fans' award.

The 24-year-old has reignited his career at Swindon having joined the Wiltshire club after a trial last summer.

He spent 2020/21 on the fringes of Port Vale having been released by Carlisle despite top scoring with 11 goals in all competitions the previous term.

McKirdy had a chequered relationship with Blues fans during his time at the club and recently claimed he "really doesn't like Carlisle".
