Workington gun incident man remanded in custody

A Workington man charged with possessing an imitation firearm will appear at crown court next month.

Nicky James Horsfall, 30, of Hillcrest, Northside, appeared at West Cumbria Magistrates Court today charged with possessing an imitation firearm with intent to cause fear or violence and using racist or religiously aggravated language causing fear or provocation of violence at a construction site near Northside Road on Saturday morning.

A replica gun was recovered by the police.

Horsfall, who works for Morgan Sindall in Whitehaven, did not enter a plea and only spoke to confirm his name, age and address.

His case will now be heard at Carlisle Crown Court on November 4.

Horsfall was remanded in custody.
