West Cumbrian woman killed in crash

A woman who died in a crash on the A69 has been identified as a Workington woman.

Northumbria police today named her as 37-year-old Ann Marie Carruthers, of Mossbay Road.

Her silver Peugeot car is understood to have crashed at some point on Friday night, but details are still unknown. The vehicle was found overturned, half a mile west of the A69 at Haydon Bridge yesterday morning,

Police are continuing to appeal for information about the crash, and particularly keen to speak to anyone driving in the area between 11pm on Friday and 5.50am on Saturday.

Anyone with information is asked to call 101 and ask for Northumbria Police.
