Second person quizzed over alleged bar attack in Carlisle

A second person has been questioned after an alleged attack on a woman in a Carlisle bar.

Police say officers spoke to a 39-year-old woman in connection with a reported early hours assault in Dempsey’s, Warwick Road.

A man, 40, had earlier been questioned as part of the investigation into the same incident. No arrests have been made.

The inquiry comes after a 20-year-old woman was allegedly assaulted by a man and a woman. It happened between about 1am and 1.15am on Monday. She sustained minor injuries.

Officers say that anyone who was in the bar or nearby might have seen something that could help the investigation.

Phone police on 101.
