Cumbrian roads closed due to snow and ice

Snow and ice forced the closure of four roads across Cumbria today.

They were:

  • The Corney Fell Road at Corney, Millom (motorists are asked to use the main A595 road when travelling south until further notice). Road still closed.
  • A591 – Dunmail Rise. Road still closed.
  • A592 – Kirkstone Pass. Road still closed.
  • A593 – Skelwith Bridge, Ambleside, where emergency services attended a crash between two vehicles. No injuries reported. Believed due to weather conditions. This road has reopened and is passable with care.
