Prison warning for Carlisle man who indecently assaulted girls

A man has been placed on the sex offenders’ register after admitting indecently assaulting two girls.

Robert Kidd, 53, admitted a string of sex crimes when he appeared at Carlisle Crown Court.

Kidd, of Botcherby Avenue, Botcherby, Carlisle, admitted three charges of indecent assault against one girl and a further count of the same offence against another.

He was remanded in custody following a hearing yesterday.

Judge Paul Batty QC warned him a “significant custodial sentence” was inevitable.

The case was adjourned for a sentencing hearing on November 2.
