Mark Lee Armstrong, 38, had been sleeping rough in the Penrith area and officers believe he may have returned to the streets.

He was described as about 6ft tall, of medium build, with short dark brown hair and a tanned complexion. He left the city hospital at 2.55am last Wednesday.

At the time he was wearing brown and green camouflage trousers and a black Nike shell suit top with a white stripe.

Police say he also has links to Lancashire and it is believed he had been intending to travel to the Dumfries and Galloway area.

Anyone with information can call Carlisle police on 101.
