Police question man, 40, after alleged assault in Carlisle bar

A 40-year-old man has been questioned by police investigating an alleged assault at a Carlisle bar.

The man has not been arrested and enquiries are ongoing.

Police are investigating claims a 20-year-old woman was attacked at Dempsey’s, in Warwick Road, in the early hours of Monday. She is said to have suffered minor injuries.

She was allegedly attacked by a man and woman.

A police spokeswoman said they were “working with the victim to establish the circumstances of the incident”.
