Police investigate stabbing in Carlisle

A man was taken to hospital with knife wounds after he was stabbed in Carlisle.

The 36-year-old was taken to the Cumberland Infirmary in Carlisle after the incident in Bousteads Grassing, Denton Holme, yesterday.

He suffered a slash to his head and wounds to his collar bone and abdomen in the attack at around 5.10pm.

Police said the man was receiving treatment for his injuries at a property on Bousteads Gardens when they arrived at the scene. He was discharged from hospital after treatment there.

It is understood the victim called an ambulance himself.

Anyone with information about the incident should call police on 101.
