Police hunting hit and run driver

Police are hunting a driver who failed to stop after hitting another vehicle in Maryport.

The incident was on the A596, near Filmby, heading towards Maryport around 10am on Monday (June 30).

A Cumbria Police spokesman said that the suspect had been overtaking a double decker bus, which was parked at the time, before hitting the brown Vauxhall car.

The vehicle that the suspect was driving was described as a Volkswagen car which was possibly a Polo which made off in the direction of Maryport.

Anyone with any information should contact police on 101 and ask to speak to PC Sue Ashburner.

What faith do you have in rail services in Cumbria improving?

Every. Anything better than what we have currently is an improvement

None. There's little substance to what the Government is saying for the general passenger

It will get better - but only once old trains are taken off the tracks
