Missing Carlisle man found safe and well

A 47-year-old man who had been missing from his home in Carlisle for nearly a week has been found safe and well.

Police had issued a number of appeals for information after becoming concerned for the welfare of Desmond Fisher.

Mr Fisher, who comes from the Harraby area, had last been seen walking along Wigton Road, Morton, on Thursday evening last week.

He was found last night, a Cumbria police spokeswoman said.
