Carlisle royal sick bag artist's new product to mark Duchess of Cambridge pregnancy

Some raised eyebrows when artist Lydia Leith came up with some alternative memorabilia when Wills and Kate tied the knot.

But now her creation couldn’t be more appropriate – and something the pregnant Duchess of Cambridge might like to keep in her handbag.

And to bring her royal sick bags right up to date, she’s come up with a new design.

Lydia, of Carlisle, has designed a royal baby sick bag to replace her royal wedding creation.

She said: “When I heard the duchess was pregnant, I wasn’t going to do anything, but on the day it was announced, I got quite a lot of emails asking what I was doing.

“So I pulled an idea together, and emailed it around to see what the response would be and people have been quite interested.”

The bags – available in pink and blue, priced £3 – boast the slogan “shake, rattle and rule”.

Lydia’s already courted a bit of attention with her latest creation and is expecting to be busy as royal pregnancy fever continues to grip the nation.

“I’ve warned the post office up the road that things might get busy and they’re ready,” she said.

Not started. I always join the Christmas eve rush.

Ages ago. I like to be organised.

Don't know. I leave it all to the wife.
