Motorbiker taken to hospital after crash on main Cumbrian road

A biker was taken to hospital following a crash on the A595 at Egremont this morning.

The accident, involving a car and motorbike, happened at about 7.10am at the police station roundabout.

The rider of the red Honda bike, a 26-year-old man, sustained minor injuries and was taken to hospital. The driver of the silver BMW did not need hospital treatment.

The road had been cleared by 8am but some disruption was caused to commuters.
