The trouble also involved a man and a woman. A man, 27, was arrested on suspicion of assault and later bailed.

The incident happened between 11.30pm and 11.40pm on Sunday.

Police are appealing for information. A force spokeswoman said: “Anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has any information is asked to call Cumbria police on 101 and ask for DC Catherine McFadden.
