A 47-year-old woman has been charged after allegedly stabbing a man in Moor Row, near Whitehaven, yesterday.

The man, 50, was taken to Carlisle's Cumberland Infirmary yesterday morning after allegedly being stabbed by a woman inside a house in the village.

Police say they were called to a domestic related incident at 3.30am.

He was taken to hospital in Carlisle with non-life threatening injuries and is in a stable condition.

Tanneh Vera Befoh, of Cleator Moor, is to appear in front of magistrates in west Cumbria later today charged with wounding with intent.
