Man hurt in knifepoint robbery on Carlisle street

A man was cut during a knifepoint robbery on a Carlisle street.

Police have appealed for witnesses to the incident on Milbourne Street to come forward.

A 34-year-old city man was approached by three men at about 7.15pm on Tuesday last week (July 15).

As he fought to stop them taking his mobile phone, one of the men drew a knife and injured the victim's hand.

Police say the men had been sitting on a bench near to the Milbourne Arms pub.

Detective Constable Gary Taylor said: “This robbery occurred in broad daylight on a busy street, someone must have seen something.

"We appeal to anyone with information to get in touch. The victim is shook up following this incident and we would like the public’s help in bringing these offenders to justice.”

Anyone who can help should call 101.

  • Three men have been arrested and charged in connection with the incident.
