Man charged after incident on Carlisle street

A 20-year-old man will appear in court this morning following an incident in Carlisle yesterday.

Ashley MacAuley, of Hopeshill Drive, Carlisle, has been charged with affray and possession of an offensive weapon.

He is due to appear before the city's magistrates court.

The charges come after police were called, at about 12.30pm yesterday, to Bower Street, just off Newtown Road.

A 17-year-old Carlisle youth who was also arrested has been bailed while inquiries continue.

Police are still appealing for information about a red Audi car, registration RO08 LND, which was involved in the incident. Anyone with information should call police on 101.
