A cyclist was airlifted to hospital following a head-on collision with a car.
The woman, in her forties, suffered head and facial injuries.
The crash near Kirkby Stephen at 11.55am yesterday.
The Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS) was called to the scene.
The woman was assessed and treated before being flown to the Cumberland Infirmary in Carlisle, where her condition was said to be stable.
Her injuries were not life-threatening.
