A man was taken to hospital after a fire started in a house in Carlisle.
Firefighters, police and the ambulance service were all called to the fire in a two-storey house on Cranbourne Road, Raffles, just before 8am this morning.
Paramedics treated a 48-year-old man at the scene before taking him to the Cumberland Infirmary, Carlisle, for a check up.
Firefighters, two wearing breathing apparatus, tackled the fire using a hose reel jet and thermal imaging camera. They then cleared smoke from the scene with a large fan.
Crews were in attendance for approximately one hour and thirty seven minutes. Fire engines from Carlisle East and Carlisle West attended.
Police and firefighters are now working together to find out the circumstances of the fire.
