A man has died following a crash near Carlisle.
Police have confirmed that an 18-year-old man from the city died at the scene.
He was driving a black Mini Cooper.
The one-vehicle crash happened on Burgh Road, between Carlisle to Burgh by Sands, near Kirkandrews-on-Eden.
Emergency services were called to the scene at 3.19pm yesterday.
Firefighters from the Carlisle East and Carlisle West fire stations attended.
They assisted police and ambulance crews.
The road was closed in both directions for several hours while detailed investigations were carried out.
It has now reopened.
Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision to come forward.
